Our Caboose is on the tracks beside the Darlington Depot. We can’t get to work on restoration until the weather warms up because step #1 is welding steel patches on any areas that have rusted through or been damaged – and that requires warm weather. But once the weather warms we will get right to work with clean-up, rust treatment, painting and repairs, followed by restoring the interior to represent a working caboose. This was a Missouri Pacific car ordered from the Magor Car Company in 1937. Most likely originally numbered 920, it was a retired MoPac Caboose numbered 11020 when it was purchased by the prior owner. We will restore it using Milwaukee Road livery (color scheme) since that was the line that served our area. Watch for updates or better yet, stop by to see it!
